Francois Boucher's "Vertumnus And Pomona":
Critique [ send
me this paper ] 4 pages in length. The 1757 oil on canvas Vertumnus
and Pomona is considered one of French artist Francois Boucher's most
appreciated pieces. At the time this particular painting was created, the
social, political and economical impact of the arts was experiencing a
rebirth of sorts that helped to establish Europe as an artisan's heaven.
Most impressed by his eye for detail and whimsical approach was the royal
sect, who so proudly displayed his artistic endeavors and even
commissioned him to create personal pieces. Boucher was paid handsomely
for these assignments, placing a new and richly deserved value on the
worth of artwork in general. Bibliography lists 3 sources. Filename: TLCbouch.wps

French Provincial Furniture [ send
me this paper ] 5 pages in length. French Provincial furniture
originated during the time of Louis XIV. Up until this period, provincial
furniture pieces were few and far between; if they did exist, they were
constructed very simply. Furniture production of this countrified style
began to increase once France established peace throughout the land, with
the first of this manufactured furniture borrowing significantly from both
Italian ornamentation and Parisian style: precious stones, ivory, mother
of pearl or carving. Bibliography lists 7

Freudian Revenant and the Aesthetics of Art
[ send
me this paper ] A 5 page contention that Freudian theory has a
diversity of applications to the aesthetics of art. Of these, however, the
concept of revenants is perhaps the most obvious in the greatest number of
art pieces. While revenants could be a component of any art form, they are
most interesting when viewed in terms of human language. Poetry and music,
therefore, offer the greatest opportunity to witness the application of
one component of Freudian theory on our understanding of the aesthetics of
art. Provides an analysis of the poems "Fern Hill" by Dylan Thomas and
"Pied Beauty" by Gerard Manley Hopkins as an example of this application.
